"Satellites In Our Everday World" will be held on the University of North Carolina at Asheville (UNCA) campus, located approximately one mile north of downtown Asheville.

The meeting will begin at 11:45am Thursday, March 14 with registration and lunch. Upon arriving at the UNCA campus, proceed directly to Robinson Hall for registration materials and sessions (a campus map is included with "driving directions to UNCA" below).

Asheville is also served by US Airways via Charlotte, Delta Air Lines via Atlanta and Comair via Cincinnati.

  • March 14, 1967 - the high temperature was 83 degrees
  • March 14, 1926 - the low temperature was only 10 degrees
  • On March 14, the mean high temperature is 57.1 degrees, the mean low temperature is 35.2 degrees
  • On March 14, 1988, 1/2 inch of snow fell -- but on March 13, 1993, a blizzard dropped 16-25 inches of snow throughout western North Carolina!
