A block of rooms has been reserved at a special rate ( $55 single deluxe plus tax, per night) at the Best Western Asheville/Biltmore, 22 Woodfin Street, Asheville NC, 28801 for the 2002 Conference. Hotel telephone is 828 253-1851, fax 828 252-9205. We will use this hotel primarily for those flying in, without their own transportation in Asheville. You may be able to get a better rate at other local motels and hotels. A shuttle bus will run from this hotel to the University in the morning and return in the late afternoon. To get the $55 rate, you must advise the hotel you are with this conference and are using the rate code CGNCDC. This hotel is rated AAA: 2 diamonds, Mobil: 2 stars. Need information on other Asheville accommodations? There are many chain and independent motels within 5-6 miles of the University that can provide moderately priced accommodations. There are no low priced accommodations near to, or within walking distance of the University.

The facilities listed below have a AAA 2 or 3 "Diamond" rating, and offer rooms below (or much below) $100 per night. Note that March is low season in Asheville and rooms should be widely available and at discounts from other times of the year.

For finding your way around, Hendersonville Road (U.S. 25) addresses are generally south of downtown;  Tunnel Road (U.S. 70/74A) addresses are generally east of downtown; Brevard Road Road (NC 191 at I26) addresses are generally southwest of downtown; Crowell Road (U.S. 19/23 at I40) addresses are generally west of downtown.
